After his thrust to the maemen of the kamayari was thwarted with hikiotoshi, the suyari immediately thrusts to the kamayari's uradō. The kamayari beats the suyari upwards, bypasses its tip and slides with his left sickle to the leading hand of his opponent.
Suyari and kamayari start in gedan.
On the third step forward the suyari thrusts from gedan to the maemen of the kamayari. The latter knocks the suyari to the ground with hikiotoshi. Without delay the suyari now thrusts to the uradō of the kamayari (to make things easier for the kamayari he actually thrusts a little higher).
The kamayari beats the suyari upwards with his spear shaft. The suyari however remains on the ura side, which is why the kamayari in the same action bypasses the tip of the suyari and then with his ura sickle slides to the suyaris leading hand taking a step forward with okuriashi.
Now first the suyari then the kamayari move the right hand a litte forward on the shaft then draw the spear back into yarigamae while stepping backward with okuriashi thus disengaging before returning to their starting positions.
